The island of Fourni is a small island with an area of 28 km². It is located between the island Ikaria and Samos island. Fourni has a population of around 1,800. Tourism is unfairly underdeveloped: Fourni offers holidaymakers beautiful beaches and bays, is easy to reach by ferry and, above all, is pure Greek island atmosphere – Fourni is a real insider tip among the islands of Greece.
Kambos: The main town and port is Kambos (sometimes simply called Fourni). There are several accommodations and tavernas here. Since most of the inhabitants of Fourni still make their living from fishing, you should definitely try a fresh fish dish. Nikos near the harbor is the most popular tavern. The place seems very quiet and tranquil, time seems to have stood still here. You feel like you have gone back 20 years. The prices are slightly below average. The town has a considerable number of fishing boats in the harbor. Fish is practically the only export product of the island of Fourni. Sheep and goats are also bred. The honey from Fourni is considered to be of very high quality.

The other village is the rarely visited Chrisomilia. You can reach it either on a 10 km long dirt road or with a tour boat 2-3 times a week in summer. The road is also suitable for a longer hike. Currently (2012) the road is to be asphalted.
There are 5 other small islands around the insider tip island of Fourni. The largest and only inhabited (now only in summer) is Thymena. Small ferry boats also go to Thymena at least twice a week. There is a small guesthouse with a tavern (better ask in Fourni beforehand whether it is open). Camping is allowed. Thymena is one of the quietest Greek islands.
